Dear Friends:

Due to the state of emergency and disaster declared in the city of San Antonio on Monday, March 2 by the city's mayor, which extends until March 9, and out of an abundance of caution and consideration for our part in social distancing duty, Alice James Books regrets to inform our wonderful community that we will not be present at the AWP Conference 2020 this week as planned.

We are grateful to our authors and patrons for their understanding, ongoing support, and friendship to the press. We are so sorry we will not be able to convene with you, as it is one of our greatest joys to connect with you all during the conference!

To AWP, we want to express our appreciation for our literary partnership this year. Thank you for your belief in our work, the opportunity to collaborate, and all you've done to plan and coordinate what is always a terrific and productive conference for us.

For those of you who were looking forward to our book fair sale, we understand the disappointment and will offer the sale (and free standard shipping to U.S. destinations) via our website through March 9. Discounts will be applied in the cart.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Kansas City in 2021.

All the best to everyone,

Carey Salerno, Executive Director & Executive Editor
