Natural Affinities

Erica Funkhouser

Funkhouser deliberately chooses commonplace and ordinary objects (fish scales, the blue in beets, paper clips) to display her altogether uncommon vision...Repeatedly she challanges seemingly prosaic matters to give up their secrets."
ALA Booklist

"Erica Funkhouser's poetry is based on a vision of correspondences and affinities in the natural world. She always reads confidently and easily...she has a real feel for seeing and describing the poetry resident in the world around her."
