I have prepared for this moment
at length and with much care.
When you look, you will see
the whole of me without strain.
I am myself more and more
all the time. Diminutive
from the start, I consume
the décor as well, I fit
the roundness of your eye.
There is nothing for you to see,
should you widen or narrow
your pupil, but me: no landscape,
no hint of night or day.
I have absorbed the light
and no longer cast reflections
of my life, I believe it is
what you always wanted.
